You should continue planting your summer and fall-flowering bulbs (e.g., Cannas and Lilies),
as well as dividing fall blooming perennials.
It’s also time to begin spraying your fruit trees with
a fungicide at 7 - 10 day intervals.
Most importantly, do not use any insecticides on the trees until less than 10% of the blooms remain to avoid harming our good friends the bees. Bees are
arguably our most important pollinators and the fungicide will not harm them (go to Clemson-EDU for more detailed gardening guidelines for May).
